The National ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Oral History Archive Project, at the Mary Nona McGreal, OP, Center for ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Historical Studies at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ, seeks to support the memory and study of the life of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ family in the United States.

Recognizing the rich histories, broad spectrums of service experiences, and increasingly diverse settings of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Friars, Nuns, Sisters, and Laity, it is important to hear individual women and men’s stories to gain a more complete understanding of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ religious life in the 20th and 21st centuries. In this endeavor, the National ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Oral History Project looks to capture the vocational life history of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ family.

At the core of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ charism is study, and this project seeks to promote this central gift of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ life. ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ archives across the country have collected oral histories of their members, but this project, through digitization, seeks to centralize this work into a single portal, that is accessible, searchable, and ready for future scholarship.

Please join us in our mission to preserve and tell the history and life of the Order of Preachers in the United States.
